Kiln: Digital Art Editions
Kiln is a concept mobile marketplace we designed for limited digital art editions. Artists release a fixed number of copies, collectors buy in ETH and keep them in a wallet, and the artist earns a royalty each time a piece resells.
A fictional product exploration showing interface and interaction design. No live deployment or commercial results are implied.

Who Kiln is for
Working artists who sell their work as limited digital editions, and collectors who buy straight from them. The design gives the artwork, the artist and the provenance room to speak.
- Collectors who follow artists and wait for their next drop.
- Artists who release a fixed number of copies and earn on resales.
- Buyers who want the full price, fee included, before they pay.
- Bidders in live auctions for one-of-one pieces.
Why a calmer way to collect digital art
Kiln takes an editorial, quieter approach to collecting. A collector should see who made a piece, how many copies exist and exactly what they will pay, before any wallet mechanics.
- The artist and the edition number come with every piece.
- The platform fee and the total show before checkout.
- A collection shows what each piece is worth now.
What we designed for Kiln
Showcase and drops
The next drop with a countdown and a reminder, fresh editions and artists worth watching.
Edition page
The artwork, the edition number, the artist’s story, the price history and one Buy button.
Price with nothing hidden
Price, the 2.5% platform fee and the total due before checkout, and a note that the artist receives an 8% royalty on every resale.
Wallet
The balance in ETH and in dollars, send and receive, editions held and every purchase with its fee.
Collection
Editions by artist, what was paid, what they are worth now and the change for each piece.
Live auction
The highest bid, time left, bid history, your last bid marked when outbid, and the next bid set by the bid step.
How a collector buys an edition
Discover
Browse fresh editions and artists, or set a reminder for the next drop.
Choose
Open an edition: the artwork, the artist, the edition number and the price.
Buy
See the fee and the total in ETH, then buy in one tap.
Keep or bid
The edition lands in the wallet and the collection. Live auctions take bids on one-of-one pieces.
How we designed Kiln
We followed one collector’s week: three editions bought, a drop that opens on Monday evening and a live auction where the last bid has just been outbid. The screens are laid out in HTML and CSS. On Behance the same design is published as Halsey Editions, so the screens below carry that name.
One week of collecting
A drop, a purchase, a collection and an auction, with sample artists and prices.
Artwork first
A dark interface, so the art carries the colour; violet and mint mark the actions.
Fees in the open
The fee, the total and the artist’s royalty sit on the edition page, before checkout.
Prototype screens
Showcase, edition, wallet, collection and live auction, on a phone.

What Kiln would do
- Counts down to drops and reminds collectors when they open.
- Shows the artist, the edition number and the full price on every piece.
- Pays the artist a royalty on every resale.
- Shows gain or loss per edition, not only in total.
- Runs live auctions with a clear bid step and an outbid mark.
Questions about this project
No. It is a concept project: the artists, the artworks and the prices are invented.
